How to Wash a Teddy Coat
Teddy coats are not only extremely soft and cozy but also a fashionable choice for the colder months. However, proper care is needed to keep them looking their best. Here's how to wash a teddy coat.
First, check the care label. Different teddy coats may have specific washing instructions based on the fabric composition and construction. Some may be machine washable, while others might require hand washing or dry cleaning.
If the care label indicates machine washing is allowed, use a mild detergent. Select a gentle cycle with cold water. Avoid using hot water as it can damage the fabric and cause shrinkage. Place the teddy coat in a laundry bag to protect it from getting tangled or damaged during the wash.
If hand washing is recommended, fill a basin with cold water and add a small amount of mild detergent. Gently submerge the teddy coat and swish it around. Let it soak for a few minutes, then carefully agitate it to remove dirt and stains. Rinse thoroughly with cold water until all the detergent is removed.
After washing, avoid wringing or twisting the coat as this can distort its shape. Instead, gently press out excess water. Lay the teddy coat flat on a clean towel and reshape it if necessary. Allow it to air dry in a well-ventilated area away from direct sunlight and heat sources.
Never put a teddy coat in the dryer as the heat can damage the fabric and cause it to lose its softness and shape. Once the coat is completely dry, give it a gentle shake to fluff up the fibers.
By following these steps, you can keep your teddy coat clean and looking great for many seasons to come.FA
